The National Elephant Institute in Lampang

A month ago I visit Lampang, a province in the North of Thailand and I got a chance to visit the National Elephant Institute not so far away from the Lumpang city. I always wanted to go there because I have seen the place many times in TV whenever there are sick elephant or injured elephants they will be sent to this institute. The National Elephant Institute is the largest Thai elephants conserving center with good standard for domestic elephant care. But not only Thai elephant anymore because last time I check, a Burmese elephant was sent there to be taken care of since the institute have all the needed equipment.

There are many activities for tourists, such as, elephant show, homestay, elephant riding, trekking and training to ride elephant. The show is scheduled 7 days a week and the ticket for the show is really cheap for both Thais and Foreigners.

The place won Thailand Tourism Awards for the best natural tourist spot. Today it is also a school for those who want to learn more about elephants. The students will be closed to those smart and friendly elephants and live with Thai Homestay where you will experience Thai northern life style. It’s only 10-day course that really worth the time. It’s might be your only opportunity to be that close to elephants and get to know them and learn how to take care of them.

Find out for more info about the course at www.thailandelephant.org.

What I love about the place is besides being a home, a school for those kindest big animals; it is a hospital for sick or injured elephants and a nursery for the young ones. If you have never seen the little ones, you really have to go because the biggest baby creatures are such adorable and you will fall in love with them at the first time you see them.

Enter the Dragon

The film was released in 1973. This is not a boxing movie but a martial arts movie stared by the most famous Martial Arts artist in the history, Bruce Lee. Everyone knows who he was, so there’s no need to tell you more about him. Enter the Dragon was the most popular film that Bruce Lee stared in. It was his last completed movie before he died. But too bad he died 6 days before he would get to see his movie was first released.

This is basically a Kungfu film. And it was the very first Kungfu film that ever made by Hollywood even though it was filmed in Hong Kong making it as a leader of other later Kungfu films. And if you’re one of Bruce Lee fan out there, do not miss it.

Directed by Robert Clouse

Produced by Fred Weintraub and Paul Heller

Written by Michael Allin

Casts: Bruce Lee, John Saxon, Ahna Capri, Shih Kien…

Distributed by Warner Brothers

Synopsis:

Lee plays a Kungfu master wanted by an international intelligence organization to enter a martial arts tournament organized by Han who was once a Shaolin student just like him. Han chose immoral way for his life, becoming a drug dealer and owning a prostitution business. Lee also found out later on that Han’s right hand bodyguard killed Lee’s sister, even encouraging him to enter the fight.

The Hall of Mirrors run towards the end of the film is until now legendary, as are Lee’s extraordinarily athletic and martial arts abilities. More many decades this great film has remained an enjoyable, winning action movie.

I really recommend you to see this film which remind us a lot of Bruce Lee. It was such a huge success since it was first released. I believe until these days whoever sees this movie will still love it.
